2025 Health Equity FlexGrant

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - January 17, 2025 - The Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics (CTIP) is announcing its 2025 Annual Health Equity FlexGrant. Selected pediatric medical device innovators will be awarded up to $10,000 in non-dilutive funding to support activities that apply or adapt existing devices to address health inequities in children. Devices with adult indications that aim to expand to pediatrics are also welcome to apply.

Proposals can address factors such as:

  • Social determinants of health (e.g., race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, built environment, education, employment status)
  • Disease states that specifically or disproportionately impact underserved communities
  • Business models ensuring equitable access and distribution of technology

CTIP’s funding, ecosystem, and clinical expertise help devices move from concept to commercialization, enabling solutions that improve health outcomes for marginalized communities. Medical device innovators are encouraged to think broadly about how their technology can impact pediatric health equity.

Proposals will be evaluated on criteria including:

  • Definition of the health inequity being addressed
  • Solution’s impact on pediatric health inequity
  • Scientific, technical, and clinical merit
  • Feasibility and sustainability of the proposed solution

All devices supported by CTIP must meet the following criteria:

  1. US-based company
  2. Medical device that has a pediatric application as defined by the FDA (0 to 21 years of age)
  3. Medical device regulated by the FDA (including Software as a Medical Device)
  4. Feasible for CTIP to support (see our rules on allowable use of funds)

Applications are open until 11:59 pm PST on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Visit https://www.ctipmedtech.org/flexgrant to apply.
