Dr. Adam Cross is a pediatric hospitalist and clinical research informaticist for the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria and director of the Children’s Innovation Lab housed within the OSF Healthcare JUMP Trading Simulation and Education Center. His two primary areas of research focus are: 1) to achieve, through research, the high-fidelity digital representation of pediatric clinical knowledge for use within artificial intelligence structures; and 2) to augment the knowledge and workflow of pediatric healthcare workers to promote optimal clinical decisions in real time at the point of care through novel data discovery and innovative application methods. Some of his recent projects include concussion detection, continuous respiratory health monitoring, COVID-19 severity prediction, and rare disease diagnosis.
