Emma is thrilled to join CTIP. Her primary research background is in the field of bioethics, particularly in research ethics; and she specializes in qualitative and mixed methods research. Additionally, she has worked in numerous laboratory environments, including molecular pharmacology, cognitive neuroscience, and psychology, and has both benchwork and social science experience. She received her BA from Northwestern University, her MA in ethics from the University of Wisconsin (UWM), and she pursued a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, she was a member of the team at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in the Department of Preventive Medicine and with their Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities. In addition to working at Feinberg, she has also was employed by the University of Chicago in the Honesty, Morality, and Ethics Lab and was a student in the university’s Medical Writing and Editing certificate program. Emma looks forward to bringing her experience in qualitative research and with academic writing to her projects with the CTIP and to Lurie.
